Customer Interviews #1

There is an opportunity here at the University of Florida to increase parking because currently there are very few lots to park in for students. The people who have this unmet need for parking are students who want to drive to their classes. A solution to this problem is for UF is to build more parking garages for students to park. Now that I've interviewed five people, I think my solution to this problem is a great idea. Clearly there is a need for more parking at the university and not all students want to walk from their residence or take the bus. From interviewing 5 strangers, I learned that people can have the same problem for different reasons, but all these students agreed that increasing parking space would be a good idea for our campus. I also learned that the alternatives to this problem are considered inconvenient for most people. Many students do not like walking to class, in particularly if they live far, and others find the bus system to be inefficient.

  1. I agree, Nicole. Parking is a pain and UF does need to find a way to add more parking for students and visitors. I remember my parents coming up to Gainesville and they were asking me where to park. Everywhere on campus, College Park, etc. is all tow away zones. The whole parking situation is a little ridiculous if we’re being honest.

  2. I think this is a great idea that everyone could benefit from, no matter their reason. I like that in your interviews you showcased the many different reasons people find this as a problem, and I also thought you asked great questions that thoroughly explained the issue. Your solution sounds like a great idea, though I don't know where the school would build parking garages because everything is already so squished in. However, I think that where parking lots already exist, parking garages should be built to add more parking spaces.
Check out my blog where I asked people about dietary constraints that can be a hassle on their lives.

  3. Wow Nicole, great interviews! You seem so comfortable speaking to random strangers and it is very admirable. I have had trouble speaking to strangers so I could definitely learn from you. I agree that the campus parking issue needs to be addressed because I always have trouble parking and usually takes about 15 minutes just to find a spot. I would give you my interview to look over, but I did not do them.

  4. You did a really good job on your interviews, mostly because you actually did them and many of us did not. your interviews gave me an insight as to how to construct mine. Good job.
